Brodey Linville is riding a Beta 300rr for DSD Kawasaki / Arctic Cat / Beta this year as he defends his Open A Title. “I am absolutely loving the bike,” he said. “I feel right at home on it.” His plan this year is to stay up front and to get good finishes. He explained, “Last year, I won the Class Championship, but I only actually won one race. I am really hoping to get some more first place finishes and some Amateur Overalls in the 2015 Season.”

Linville thoroughly enjoyed WEXCR Round 1 at King Knob. “Round 1 was incredible! The entire WEXCR Crew really put together an awesome event. It was a true harescramble and the track was GNARLY! It had everything – rocks, hills, mud, dust, creeks, roots, wide open sections, you name it. At one section of the course, they had us running through these huge over-sea shipping containers that were buried.”

“The racing is the best you’re going to find in a local series,” said Linville. “There is a ton of talent in our area and it makes for some great competition when race day rolls around!”

Linville gave a few details on the race and said, “The first two laps were pretty much wheel to wheel for Nathan Savings, Kody Kinnison and I. We caught a few of the pro riders and were all rolling at a pretty good pace. Kody made a mistake on the second lap and I got around him and after that, things just started clicking. I felt really good the whole race and my slightly intoxicated pit crew did an awesome job fueling me up on Lap 3 so I could get back on the track quickly. I would definitely go back to King Knob to race in a heartbeat!”

This year, Linville is riding a new bike. He says, “The Beta 300rr is the easiest bike I have ever ridden. It handles like a dream. Everyone who knows me knows I am a 2-stroke guy and when DSD Kawasaki / Arctic Cat / beta started selling Betas a few years ago, I know that it was going to be the next bike I bought. It seems like the bike gets traction everywhere and it really showed that at King Knob on the hills littered with tons of rocks. It just hooked up and made it right up them.”

Linville went on to explain, “It’s very balanced, too. The ergonomics of the bike are just spot on. I was getting ready to clean it up and my dad came outside and hopped on it to take it for a spin. He came back, bugs in his teeth, grinning ear-to-ear and I knew what that meant. I came home from class and found a brand new Beta 300rr sitting in the garage the next day. So, look for him in the Vet Class later in the year!

Linville’s favorite part of racing WEXCR is how the entire crew has their act together. “From coming through the gates in the morning to the track crew pulling the last guy out of the woods in the evening, they do an excellent job and run an outstanding, quality race series,” he said.

“My goal for this year is to get the Amateur Overall. Like I mentioned before, in 2014, I only had one 1st Place Finish so I am really hoping to be able to run up front more this year. When I got my first Amateur Overall last year at the double header race on the first day, it was an awesome feeling. Other than that, I just hope to stay healthy and injury free,” said Linville.

When asked who he would like to thank, Linville said, “First off I have to thank the good lord for keeping me safe. Then, my main sponsor DSD Kawasaki/ Arctic Cat/ Beta. They help me out so much and are great to work with. They are like family and I appreciate everything they do for me. Jay Downhour with JDPerformance MX is next. I called him Thursday before the Round 1 and was talking to him about my suspension and how it was a bit too soft for me. He told me what I needed to do for the time being and it helped a ton. I can’t wait to take my suspension to him and let a professional tear into it. Dustin and Cody Sole have been helping me out so much with my fitness. Cody puts Dustin and I through these circuit workouts that completely destroy us. Dustin also helped me get my bike together for round 1 and pitted me. (Watch for him in the Vet 30 class later in the year.) I’d also like to thank my mom and dad for all the help they give me, my Goggle Girl (girlfriend) Paige, and my sister Jordyne for hooking me up with my graphics.
