Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and its hard to believe it but we have already reached the final round of the season. So its time to see who has what it takes to bring home the championship in each class for the 2015 season! With that being said our round# 10 event will be held on Sunday September the 27th at the “Black Rock XC” located in Sharpsburg, OH. This course is one of my favorites as it will have a great mixture of tight technical trails along with with some faster paced haul roads while providing some great elevation changes along the way. We still have a bunch of land to work with as we will be adding some more new fresh sections for this round. Estimating around a 8-9+ mile adult bike & quad track, stay tuned for more info as the track layout progresses…

Landowner made the call, we are racing Rain or Shine, equipment is onsite if a little tow may be needed getting in or out.

Also don’t forget this is also our last round for UTV’s, which their race will be held right after the finish of the adult quad race. So make sure you plan to stick around and watch these guys battle it out to become the 2015 WEXCR UTV Champion. UTV Racers, this track is going to be awesome for you guys, estimating around a 5 mile track full of open fast haul roads & some technical trails for you all to enjoy.  Can-Am UTV racers, make sure you check out the awesome contingency program that they have to offer for those of you that race their machines!

This facility does have easy off the road access with nice level parking although this is one of the smaller parking areas in our series. Space is a little limited for extra large campers/trailers, so if possible load up a smaller trailer or throw your bike or quad in the pickup truck and get ready for another one final adventurous round with WEXCR!!! If you would like you can bring your campers or tents out on Saturday and spend the weekend with us, as always there is no extra charge for camping.

Our next event will be the 9th Round of our 2015 season which will be held on Sunday September 13th @ “Dynamite Valley Raceway” in Chesterhill, OH.

This facility is a newer one for our series and we are excited to get back here to work on a new layout for this round!! This track has a pretty good mixture of technical & faster paced trails with a good bit of elevation changes and we have plans to some more “single track” adult bike only sections to give you guys some more challenges! I’m estimating about 6-7 miles for the adult divisions but stay tuned for more info on complete mileage as we finalize the layouts.

This facility does have easy off the road access with plenty of semi level parking, if you would like you can bring your campers or tents out on Saturday and spend the weekend with us, as always there is no extra charge for camping. Our Round# 8 of Motorcycle & ATV racing & Round #4 for UTV’s will take place @ “Fallon Farms” located just outside of Rio Grande, OH. This event will be in a 2 day format, which this is just 1 regular WEXCR points race not a double header or co-sanctioned event. ALL QUAD & UTV CLASSES will race on Saturday the 22nd & ALL BIKE CLASSES will race on Sunday the 23rd. There is plenty of nice level parking at this facility with easy off the road access, so it makes for a great place to bring your campers or RV’s and you can get in on Friday evening if you wish to spend the entire weekend with the WEXCR racing family. We are also working on coming up with some entertaining events for Saturday evening after the racing is over, stay tuned for more info to be released soon. Also since we have a little more time during the race days we have extended the race times a little on the peewee & youth divisions but the adult divisions will stay the same. See below for the new time schedule format for this round only.

As far as the track goes you all are going to love this place, it has a great mixture of faster paced, tight technical trails, with few hill climbs & some rocky creek sections. After spending last weekend working on the layout we came up with the following approx lengths, Peewee 1.5 miles, Youth/UTV 5 miles, Adult Quad 7 miles and Adult Bikes 8.5 miles with the single track section included. Also look for the new 2015 layout to have some awesome new field sections to provide more track side pitting. So get your race machines ready and come on out for another great adventurous round with WEXCR!!!

After our little mini break we are ready to get back to some racing action for our Round #5 event on Sunday June 28th! This event will be held @ “Racers Ranch”  located just outside of Cutler, OH brought to you by DSD Kawasaki, Arctic Cat & Beta. During past events here we have had around a 7-7.5 mile adult bike track along with a pretty sweet bike only single track section. Overall this track has a pretty good variety of terrain to tackle from tight technical sections, open high speed field sections, ravines and a few medium sized up & down hills. Stay tuned for this years info as the new layout progresses.

This is also our 3rd round of UTV racing for the season, which they will be racing right after the adult quads finish up on Sunday. Make sure you all make plans to stick around as I’m sure you will see some great battles as Can-Am UTV racers will be competing for $1000 to win in Can-Am Contingency Bucks! Round# 4 of our Motorcycle & ATV series will be held @ Horsepower Hollow in Coolville/Torch, OH on Sunday May 31st 2015 and this event will be back to our normal 1 full day event format. We are excited to get to work on coming up with a new layout for this facility after letting it “heal up” for almost 2 years. Stay tuned for more info as the track layout progresses…

This facility does have easy off the road access with plenty of semi level parking, if you would like you can bring your campers or tents out on Saturday and spend the weekend with us, as always there is no extra charge for camping.

If you already have one of these stick on style transponders from any other race series, you are good to go as long as it passes the reader test at registration. Also there is no such thing as a “annual renewal/programming fee” with us!

Our Round# 3 of Motorcycle & ATV racing will take place @ Pioneer Motorcycle Club located in Waterford, OH. This will be in a 2 day event format, ALL QUAD CLASSES will race on Saturday the 16th & ALL BIKE CLASSES will race on Sunday the 17th. While our racer turnouts are continuing to grow and the parking @ this facility being one of the smallest in our series we have decided this was the best option to ensure that everything runs smoothly for everyone involved. Since we have alittle more time during the race days we have extended the race times a little on the peewee & youth divisions but the adult divisions will stay the same. See below for the new time schedule format for this round only.

As far as the track goes you all are going to love this place as it has several awesome spectator spots just a short walk from the pits. Not to mention a sweet track layout with a great combo of tight technical and fast paced trails, along with a few hill climbs & some rocky creek sections to finish it all up!!! Look for the new 2015 layout to have some awesome new sections that will be designated as Bike only or Quad only trails!! We have come up with a little over a mile of peewees, approx 3.5 for the youth divisions, approx 7 miles for the Adult Quads and approx 9 miles for Adult Bikes!

This facility does have easy off the road access with nice level parking, although as mentioned above this is one of the smallest parking areas in our series. Space is a little limited for extra large campers/trailers, so load up a smaller trailer or throw your bike or quad in the pickup truck and get ready for another great adventurous round with WEXCR!!!

Club History

1954 – A Motorcycle Club was formed by a group of guys that loved to ride. Those founding members were; Albert Bartell, Bob Hughes, Jack Wolfe, Jerry Dye, Sam Sadler and of course their Wives. The club’s original name was the Knights of the Golden Circle.
1956 – The club joined the American Motorcyclist Association and changed their name to Pioneer Motorcycle Club representing the “Pioneer City” of Marietta, Ohio. In 1959 the club was incorporated and became a “Not for Profit” Corporation. During the early years meetings were held at the various members homes at multiple locations through the Mid Ohio Valley.
1957 – Saw the Club’s 1st Hillclimb and over the next several years, hosted other types of events; Rocket Runs, Lime Runs and Poker Runs for the road, Hillclimbs, Scrambles, Enduros, Harescrambles for the Off-road, and Motorcycle Rodeos for both road and off-road.
1974 – Pioneer Motorcycle Club, Inc. made their final move to the current location in Waterford, Ohio purchasing 30 acres, clearing land, building a hill and laying out trails soon became priority. The surrounding neighbors have worked alongside the club, allowing them to use the land for various events.
1984 – Hosted our 1st AMA Amateur National Championship Hillclimb in Jenny Wiley State Park in Kentucky
1988, 89, 90, 91, 92 – Hosted “The Buckeye GNCC ” Part of the “Grand National Cross Country” Race Series
1996, 2003 & 2008 – Hosted the AMA Amateur National Championship Hillclimb
1957 – Present – The Club has held numerous local events over the past 55 years, including the Marietta, Barlow and Waterford Fair Motorcycle Rodeos, the Wolf Creek and Monkey Butt Enduros, Harescrambles, Grand Prix and of Course Hillclimbs – 2 hills, a night time hill and day time hill make the “climb” a Challenge to all riders.

Currently the Club has approximately 40 active members, which take care of all the up-keep, maintenance, improvements and event duties by donating their time, equipment and energy for the Love of the sport! Two founding members are still active in the club today Sam Sadler and wife Virginia and Ruth Hughes wife of the late Bob Hughes. Les and Kelly Wolfe, Son and daughter of the late Jack Wolfe (founding member) both currently hold offices and are active in the daily operation of the club and events.

Pioneer Motorcycle Club was formed because the founding members enjoyed Motorcycling! So we promote every event on that simple principle – Promote a fun, safe, family atmosphere and the event will be a competitive, fair and an enjoyable experience for All Riders!

We have worked hard at coming up with a new layout and feel for the track for this event and we finalized it with the following track mileages. Peewee’s (Green Arrows) =  approx 1 mile, Youth & UTV (Blue Arrows) = approx 3.75 miles, Adults (Red Arrows) = approx 7 miles.

Jay Downhour with JDPMX will be at the track on Saturday afternoon from approx 3pm to 8pm offering suspension service work & setup tuning if anyone is interested having a professional setup done on your race bike.

This is also our 2nd round of UTV racing for the season, which they will be racing right after the adult quads finish up on Sunday. Make sure you all make plans to stick around as I’m sure you will see some great battles as Can-Am UTV racers will be competing for $1000 to win in Can-Am Contingency Bucks! This event is being held in honor & memory of Laz & Maryann Sommers of GT Thunder. Unfortunately they passed away in an unfortunate airplane accident while heading to the Big Buck GNCC on April 11th 2014. This couple has touched many hearts & souls throughout the racing community with their kind spirits & willingness to help others. With Laz’s amazing skills and his “can do attitude” he had designed and manufactured many aftermarket performance products that have made a huge impact to ATV racing over the years. He has shared his knowledge & helped support many amateur racers as they have progressed to the top ranks in many local & national racing events.

Also to help keep their spirits alive we have ordered more of the GT Thunder Memorial T-shirts which we will be giving away as hole shot awards to every line in every division for this event. Extra shirts will be on sale at the registration trailer for $15 each, all proceeds are put into a fund to keep our $75 amateur overall awards going into the future in memory of Laz’s support to many Amateurs racers during his lifetime.

WEXCR race season is almost here!! On Sunday April 19th we will be throwing the green flag for our first event at King Knob Off Road Park located near Phillipi, WV! This is a brand new stop for our series and it will be an awesome place to kick off our 2015 season! With 1300 acres of good old WV mud, rocks & mountainous terrain, there is plenty room to layout a fun and challenging course for all our Motorcycle, ATV & UTV racers to enjoy! The parking area at this facility is top notch with easy off the road access and plenty of room to bring in your toy haulers or campers and make it a weekend family adventure,as always there is no extra charge for camping.

Here are the estimates on the track lengths as well as some changes in the course arrow colors for each division this season. Adult racers will continue to follow the same Red & White Fly arrows as they tackle our approx. 11.5 mile loop full of faster paced trails & some tighter more technical areas with a couple nice up & down hills as well as running around a portion of the Enduro-cross track at this facility. Youth racers will now be following the Blue & White Fly arrows as they race their way around an approx. 4 mile loop consisting of some fun & challenging trails to help grow their skills. All of our Peewee racers will now be following the Green & White arrows as they buzz around an approx. 1.5 mile loop around the outer perimeter of the parking/pit areas. UTV Racers will also be following the Blue & White Fly arrows but you will have a little longer track than our normal shared Youth/UTV tracks. You all will love what this facility has to offer as you battle your way around an approx.  6 mile course, full of some wider open trails which should give you plenty of room to pull off some passes with ease.
