Due to the shortened hours of daylight we will be making a slight modification to the Adult Bike, Quad & UTV race times, so make sure you scroll down and look at modified times for this event.

Also don’t forget this is also our last round for UTV’s, which their race will be held right after the finish of the adult quad race. So make sure you plan to stick around as I’m sure you will see some great battles as Can-Am UTV racers will be competing for $1000 to win in Can-Am Contingency Bucks! UTV Racers, this track is going to be awesome for you guys, estimating around a 5 mile track full of open fast haul roads along with some tighter technical trails for you all to enjoy. Can-Am UTV racers, make sure you check out the awesome contingency program that they have to offer for those of you that race their machines!

This facility does have very easy off the road access with nice level parking although this is one of the smaller parking areas in our series (parking expansion coming in 2017). Space is a little limited for extra large campers/trailers, so if possible load up a smaller trailer or throw your bike or quad in the pickup truck and get ready for another adventurous round with WEXCR!!! If you would like you can bring your small campers or tents out on Saturday and spend the weekend with us, as always there is no extra charge for camping.

On Sunday Sept 4th we will be throwing the green flag for our 10th round of racing of the 2016 race season at “Locust Grove Raceway” located just outside of McArthur, OH! This will be the 2nd time this property has ever been raced on, as we opened it up last season and it seemed to be a favorite with every racer that attended! The landowner purchased more acreage over the winter so we have plenty of work ahead of us cutting more brand new virgin trails! Overall this track has a pretty good variety of terrain to tackle from tight technical sections, open high speed field sections, creek crossings and a few medium sized up & down hills. We have plans for a pretty nice long adult bike only single track section as well as some new adult quad only sections for this years layout. Stay tuned for more info as the new layout progresses.

For those of you chasing season points, remember you need to race in at least 9 races and complete at least 1 lap at each event in order to qualify for our season awards banquet. So you only have 3 events left (including Mountaineer GNCC co-sanction) to get your points in for this season. The “drops/throw aways” are starting to take effect, so things are starting to get very interesting as we have some close points battles in several classes. To see your current season points standings you can check out the standings by clicking here.

After our mini summer break we are ready to throw the green flag for our 9th round of racing of the 2016 race season at “Racers Ranch” located just outside of Cutler, OH! Overall this track has a pretty good variety of terrain to tackle from tight technical sections, open high speed field sections, rock ravines and a few medium sized up & down hills. We have been busy working on coming up with different layout by adding a few new sections and changing the direction of some other areas around to give this track a new feel for those of you that have raced here before.  Stay tuned for this years info as the new layout progresses.

On Sunday July 10th we will be throwing the green flag for our 7th round of Motorcycle & ATV racing of the 2016 race season back at Warrior Raceway in Vincent, OH. This is our 2nd time at this facility for this season and our previous round here was a hit with all the racers & spectators! The track will have a new feel while you all tackle the nice mixture of tighter technical areas as well as a few open faster paced sections. This track is also going to be a spectators delight as there is several great areas (hill climbs, creek jump & mud bog) to catch some racing action very close to the pit areas. On Sunday June 19th we will be throwing the green flag for our 6th round of racing of the 2016 race season at “Horsepower Hollow” located outside of Torch, OH! This location was originally scheduled to be our Rd#7 but due to some scheduling conflicts we bumped this location up on our schedule, stay tuned for info to be released soon about the new location for our Rd# 7 (UTV Rd#3) event on July 10th.

“Horsepower Hollow” is also the home of Stonegate Farms & Equine Facility which is a highly rated full service horse boarding & care facility. Thankfully the landowners allow us to all get together one day a year to bring a different kind of “Horsepower” to the grounds. This track has a great mixture of technical trails, hill climbs, ravines and some high speed field sections to test riders of all skill levels. We are busy working on a new layout to give this track a new feel for those of you that have raced here before. Its definitely going to be a fun one and it appears we may actually have a dry race for once! Stay tuned for more track details to come as the new layout progresses…

One thing I do want to highlight real quick, last year at this facility we had some spectators cut some of the fencing instead of walking a little farther distance to use existing gates to get to different areas of the track. Coming From Parkersburg, WV (from the east) you will take US 50 west and make a right onto Athens County Rd 59 (Ireland Rd)

Coming from Athens or Pomeroy, OH (from the west) you will get on US 50 East and make a left on to Athens County Rd 59 (Ireland Rd).

Once on County Rd 59 (Ireland Rd) you will make a LEFT at the second four way intersection (the first one is immediate). This is Smith Rd. Follow the road past the horse arena and track entrance will be on your left.

On Sunday June 5th we will be throwing the green flag for our 5th round of racing of the 2016 race season at Constitution Ridge located outside of Belpre, OH! Constitution Ridge is full of racing history as many local races have been held on this property over the past few decades. With almost 2 years of rest the existing trails have “healed up” nicely along with the help of Larry the landowner who has spent a lot of hours on the dozer dressing up some areas. This track is full of tighter technical trails as well as a few faster paced trails and field sections. We are also planning a few adult bike only single track sections if time and mother nature allows for it. This facility is also a spectators delight as there is several areas to catch some great racing action within just a short walk from the pits. We should end up with about 7-8 miles for the adult divisions, approx. 4 miles for the youth divisions and a 1 mile loop for the peewee division racers.

With the potential chance of scattered rain and thunderstorms in the forecast for this weekend, this would be a good event to leave the big trailers/campers at home and load up the pickup or bring a smaller trailer with you just to make it easier to navigate the parking area if we do happen to get rain. If needed the landowner does have tractors and dozer onsite if anyone needs a pull. As of right now we are planning on racing rain or shine, but if anything would happen to change for the worse you will see an update on our website and social media pages. So if you aren’t afraid to possibly get a little mud on your boots & tires, come on out and join us for another awesome adventurous round of WEXCR racing!

On Sunday May 22nd we will be throwing the green flag for our 4th round of Motorcycle & ATV racing of the 2016 race season at Husted Hills located in Amesville, OH. This track has many exciting spectator areas & features including some faster paced smooth flowing trails, open GP style field sections, a fresh groomed fast paced MX track along with the coolest Enduro-cross section on our circuit!! This year we have also gained access to a new neighboring property where we have an approx. 1 1/2 mile section of tight & technical virgin trails which will add a new twist to our layout. Here is the track mileages for each of the Motorcycle & ATV divisions: Peewee’s (Green Arrows) =  1.25 mile, Youth (Blue Arrows) =  4 miles and Adults (Red Arrows) = 6 miles.

This is also our 2nd round of UTV racing for the season, the UTV racers will be tackling a 4.75 mile track (Blue Arrows) right after the adult quads finish up on Sunday. Make sure you all make plans to stick around as I’m sure you will see some great battles as Can-Am UTV racers will be competing for $1000 to win in Can-Am Contingency Bucks! The parking area at this facility does have easy off the road access and there is plenty of room to bring in your toy haulers or campers and make it a weekend family adventure, as always there is no extra charge for primitive camping.

On Sunday May 8th we will be throwing the green flag for our 3rd round of racing of the 2016 race season at The Wilderness Raceway located in Salem, WV! This is our 1st time holding an event at this facility although these woods are no stranger to xc racing. The Wilderness was the home to several GNCC events from 1995 thru 2001 as well as several Mid-Atlantic events till 2006. We have already spent many hours scouting the woods and bringing some life back to some old trails as well cutting in some new sections in a few areas. The track is going to have a nice “old school” woods racing feel as it is full of tighter technical trails with a good bit of elevation changes as the racers will navigate their way through the great wilderness terrain. Stay tuned for more track info to be released soon…

Unfortunately this track doesn’t have an actual address that we could get to come up on Google Maps so you will have to either enter the coordinates below into your GPS device or follow these directions below:

From US RT50 turn onto Sycamore Rd (on right if traveling east on Rt 50 or on left if traveling west on Rt 50)

Once on Sycamore Rd go 0.8 miles to top of hill and turn right onto Waterslide Rd (Co Rd 33-2) and then go 1.4 miles to bottom of hill and track entrance will be on your right. Keep your eyes open for the Red/White Fly Racing course arrows to help guide you into the track entrance.

Please drive slow and use caution on Waterslide Drive as it is a narrow and twisty road that will have 2 way traffic on it during race day!

On Sunday April 24th we will be throwing the green flag for our 2nd round of racing of the 2016 race season at Warrior Raceway located in Vincent, OH! This is our 1st time holding an event at this facility although several races have been held here a few years ago. The years of rest has been good for this property as most of the old trails have healed very well and we have been busy cutting in some new sections. The track is going to have a nice mixture of tighter technical areas as well as a few open faster paced field sections. This track is going to be a spectators delight as there is several great areas to catch some racing action very close to the pit areas. Stay tuned for more track info to be released soon…

If you guys have been to this facility in the past, please pay close attention to the Red & White Fly Course Arrows as you will be guided into a new entrance to the property for this event. There will be NO entry to the property using the old entrance on Samples Road.

This event is also being held in honor & memory of Laz & Maryann Sommers of GT Thunder. Unfortunately they passed away in an airplane accident while heading to the Big Buck GNCC on April 11th 2014. Over the years this couple has touched many hearts & souls throughout the racing community with their kind spirits & willingness to help others. With Laz’s amazing skills and his “can do attitude” he had designed and manufactured many aftermarket performance products that have made a huge impact to ATV racing. He has shared his knowledge & helped support many amateur racers as they have progressed to the top ranks in many local & national racing events. Also if you have a few extra minutes please take that time to read this awesome story wrote by Laz on how the GT Thunder name came about.
