Opening Race day is FINALLY almost here…

AOMC/WEXCR opening race day is FINALLY almost here, it’s been a long hard winter and our crew is just as excited as you all are to get back into some WEXCR racing action! We’ve got some great new things to announce as we get this season started…

First off I’m sure you all have seen by now, we have an awesome new facility located at the King Knob Off Road Park near Phillipi, WV this Sunday April 19th, see this link for full event details. This facility has a huge amount of acreage to work with as well as plenty of great parking to fit us all in with ease. We have been up there the past 3 weekends working hard on coming up with an awesome layout for our entire Bike, ATV & UTV racers to enjoy.

I have not had a chance to GPS map the final layouts yet and I don’t think I’ll have enough service at the track to upload the track maps before the race. Although here are the estimates on the track lengths as well as some changes in the course arrow colors for each division this season. Adult racers will continue to follow the same Red & White Fly arrows as they tackle our approx. 11.5 mile loop full of some faster paced trails, along with some tighter more technical areas with a couple nice up & down hills as well as running around a portion of the Enduro-cross track!! Youth racers will now be following the Blue & White Fly arrows as they race their way around an approx. 4 mile loop consisting of some fun & challenging trails to help build their skills. All of our Peewee racers will now be following the Green & White arrows as they buzz around an approx. 1.5 mile loop around the outer perimeter of the parking/pit areas. UTV Racers will also be following the Blue & White Fly arrows but you will have a little longer track than our normal shared Youth/UTV tracks. You all will love what this facility has to offer as you battle your way around an approx. 6 mile course, full of some wider open trails which should give you plenty of room to pull off some passes with ease. It looks like there may be a slight possibility of some rain in the forecast for Sunday afternoon so you may want to pack your rain gear and mud boots just in case. I spoke with the landowners today and they are up for some racing rain or shine! This facility does have easy access in and out of the parking area and there will be a dozer on site just in case someone needs a little extra tug.

If you are a brand new racer to our series please make sure you take a few moments to read over our event rules & info as well as the rules for your divisions, this info is located in the middle of menu bar at the top of the page. Even if you are returning racer to our series please review these pages as a refresher and make note as we have made a few changes to the rules & structures of some classes.

Also if you haven’t noticed within our site yet, due to the rising operational costs there will be a slight increase in the racer registration fees for this season. Registration fees will now be as follows: Peewee Division = $20, Youth Division = $25, Adult Amateur Division = $30, Adult Pro-am Class = $40, Adult Pro Class = $50 & UTV’s = $50 per team. Gate fees will remain the same at $15 per person 13+, $10 per person 6-12 & under 5 is free.
