RD# 11 Season Points Finale “THE MOTHMAN XC” Sunday Oct 6th – Leon, WV
On Sunday October 6th we will be hosting our final season points event at “The Mothman XC” an all brand new track located in Leon, WV! We are definitely excited to be able to bring you guys a track in WV to finish up our points season! When I say brand new, it is exactly that, there has never been a racing event held at this property before, so those of you that attend will be the first to experience these woods on your Dirtbikes and ATV’s! Before last week there was ZERO trails that existed on this property so I definitely have lots of work ahead of me to turn this 200+ acre blank canvas into another awesome WEXCR racing location! This track is gonna be 95% woods, the only fields you will see is the start, some track side pitting and the finish line area. So this is a true Woods XC Race with quite a bit of tight technical areas, nice elevation changes and the good ole rocks from the hills of WV!
For those of you that are chasing season points, remember the best 9 of the 11 rounds count towards series championships so you have 2 “throwaway” races this season. Final points will definitely be interesting to see after this round as we have several close class championship contenders out there!
Even if your not chasing points any racer is welcome to come join us for this event and if you have never raced with us before, come on out and give us a try and get a *FREE* Event T-shirt just for signing up to race!! ($20 value – while supplies last)
We are also excited for this event because this is the *100th* event in the history of WEXCR racing and we have quite a few special things in store for you guys below!
First off since this is “The Mothman XC” (if your not aware of the Mothman folklore click here) and since Halloween is not too far off. We are going to be holding a costume contest for all our kids at the podium area after the peewee races are over and before the podium awards presentation. We will be having 2 separate category’s, one for the racers and one that is open to any kids that are not racing and we also have a special award for best overall costume. The girls in scoring also have tons of treats for the kids, so get those Halloween costumes ready and get creative for your chance to win! Peewee racers are welcome to wear a costume while they race if they wish but please make sure it doesn’t interfere with their safety gear.
AOMC will be onsite with their display tent with a few new bike models and all racer entries will receive a $100 off coupon good towards the purchase of a new bike from AOMC to help get you prepared for the 2020 season!!
Impact Solutions has some awesome $100 holeshot awards for all 3 quad divisions. At the start of each quad race we will be drawing one start row # from a hat and which ever row is selected the Holeshot winner will receive a $100 gift card!!
The Big R BBQ crew they will giving away a free pulled pork or chicken dinner to all class winners in every division from peewees to adults! So now you really can say “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” lol…
The parking area at this facility has fairly easy off the road access and there is room to bring in your toy haulers or campers in to make it a full weekend family adventure with us (gates close at 11pm Saturday) There is a few areas that are perfectly level and others have a slight slop so make sure you bring some extra boards to help level your camper up. As always there is no extra charge for primitive camping. See the bottom of this page for track address & directions.

Directions Tip:
If you have a RV, pulling a camper or large box trailer and are coming from the north, ex. Parkersburg/ Marietta area. If your using a GPS or smartphone app it will more than likely direct you off of RT 87 unto Leon Baden Road or off of RT2 onto Bud Chatten Rd. DO NOT take either of these roads!! Yes it is shorter, but its only a few minutes longer and a much better drive to continue towards Pt Pleasant and turn off onto RT 62 and follow it until you come to Debbie Rd and don’t forget to look for Red Arrows when you get near!
